Economic sanctions against Iran as an important factor in threatening the health of patients with multiple sclerosis

Background: After intensified economic sanctions against Iran, decreased welfare of patients were more recognizable. The present study was aimed at identifying the challenges and stress level experienced by with multiple sclerosis (MS) regarding treatment health care services in 2018-2019 after strengthening Iran.
 Methods: A cross-sectional conducted on MS Tehran, Iran. structured questionnaire designed to measure main variables addressing respect receiving services.
 Results: In total, 1039 enrolled into study. Among who answered yes questions, 873 (85.8%) 837 (86%) concerned about medicine unavailability supply purchase internationally branded medicine, respectively. Moreover, 671 (70.3%) subjects replacing their medicines cheaper alternatives due financial problems 427 (41.4%) unwilling continue burden MS. 795 (82%) effectiveness Iranian drugs comparison drugs. Generally, 970 (93.53%) had increased current living costs 711 (68.82%) reduced nutrition quality, which (OR: 2.68; 95% CI: 1.99, 3.60) significantly higher among an income less than or equal 250 US$ per month.
